Seventeen letters from J.K. Howard, Commissioner of Woods and Forests (England), writing from Whitehall and Hazelby. The letters are to his daughter Winifred in Australia (probably Victoria). Winifred had apparently gone to Australia with her brother Kenneth on a fact finding tour, in particular looking for investment opportunities. Howard comments extensively on her views on Australian life and society, in particular his old friend Lord Normanby, Governor of Victoria. Also much family and political news.
